Microblading - FAQ

what is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure used to  fill, reshape, and/or correct eyebrows by manually depositing pigment into the skin in a customized pattern simulating hair strokes.

does microblading hurt?

Discomfort may occur, however, a topical numbing agent is applied to ensure it is minimal. Many compare the feeling to that of eyebrow threading.

How Long does microblading

take?

Each session typically takes about 2 hours, including shaping, numbing, and final touches.

What can i expect after

microblading?

As with any tattoo, temporary swelling and redness is likely to occur. Additionally, the pigment will appear darker than intended immediately following the procedure. As they heal, both will settle, and restore to a natural finish. For best results, please follow the aftercare instructions provided by your artist.

Is a touch up necessary?

More often than not, yes! Best results come from a two step process. The touch up session allows us to redefine any fading that may have occurred, increase longevity of strokes by depositing another layer of pigment, and adjust shape and/or color if necessary.

Is Microblading affected by

skin-type?

While we do our best to create a consistent experience, healed results are unique to each client. In our experience, dry skin typically heals to a finer (crisp) finish, while oily skin typically leads to a thicker (soft) healed stroke. Results vary and can be attributed to a number of factors including; skin type, aftercare, and environmental exposure.

COULD i be ineligible for

microblading for any reason?

You must be 18+ to receive a service at Behold Brows. As a safety precaution, we refrain from performing services on individuals who are pregnant or nursing. If you've had work done by another artist previously, we do require a visual consultation via email before you are eligible to book an appointment. This is to ensure expectations and achievable results coincide with one another. Diabetics must ensure your condition is well controlled, as high blood sugar levels can complicate the healing process. Lastly, we refrain from working on individuals undergoing chemotherapy due to high risk of bleeding and infection.

how long does microblading

last?

12 to 18 months depending on skin-type and lifestyle. We can not guarantee specific results.
